Disclosure first: this is a referral listing, not an official micro1 staff post. The apply link is my personal micro1 referral link, and I may receive a referral bonus if you're placed. Applying is free and happens on micro1's own site.
micro1 (https://www.micro1.ai) is an AI data company. It's contracting circuit designers for an AI training project on electronic hardware, simulation, and verification. The work is remote, flexible, and about 15 hours a week. You pick your hours, weekends included.
What you'd do: - Create, solve, review, and validate engineering tasks on analog, digital, power, mixed-signal, or RF circuits - Turn electrical requirements into schematics, netlists, HDL, constraints, or simulation inputs - Run simulation, synthesis, or verification from the command line (ngspice, Xyce, Yosys, Verilator, KiCad scripting, or similar) - Use Python to generate inputs, run parameter sweeps, and analyze results (PySpice, NumPy, SciPy, cocotb, or your own tooling)
Who fits: - MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, or a BS in EE plus 1 to 2 years of professional circuit design - Designs that were fabricated, shipped, or taped out, not only simulated - Real Python skills. The role is coding heavy, and you should already use coding agents in your workflow.
Terms: listed at $80 to $150 per hour, global and fully remote, independent contractor. Pay is output-based, per task that meets the project spec. micro1 runs screening, a roughly 30-minute AI interview, and a hiring manager review.
